The bill (Reg. No. 10579), submitted by people?s deputies V. Hrytsak and V. Konovaliuk, proposes creating the State Law Enforcement Service on the basis of the reformed internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and grant it the powers of an investigative and intelligence body and extend its functions and powers substantially.

 

Members of the Committee do not deny the necessity to further reform the system of internal affairs bodies but expressed a number of remarks and proposals to the bill.

 

Members of the Committee believe that realization of tasks stipulated by the bill will lead to ungrounded duplication of functions and tasks of other law enforcement bodies and unreasonable use of the available forces and means.
